MCU has reportedly found its Doctor Doom, actor filmed scenes for rumored debut in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever

While a Fantastic Four movie won’t arrive until Phase 6, Marvel’s first family’s known nemesis Doctor Doom may debut a little earlier, and if rumors are true, it could be in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. A new report indicates Marvel Studios has already cast the actor who’ll play Victor von Doom.

Earlier this week, concept art of Doctor Doom surfaced on social media, claimed to be the full pre-vis shot of the Fantastic Four villain for MCU. What’s more, it’s rumored to be a post-credits scene from Black Panther 2. While there’s no concrete proof to support both statements, insider Skyler Shuler recently confirmed that an actor has filmed scene(s) as Doctor Doom, conflicting with earlier claims that a stand-in was used.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever has been the talk of the town since its debut trailer and fans have been unpacking more breadcrumbs from the footage, like noticing distinct features that separate Namor from the rest of his Atlantean race. Readers can check out the tweet below.

Anticipation for Doctor Doom’s impending arrival grew more after Kevin Feige’s SDCC announcement confirmed Avengers: Secret Wars for Phase 6’s multiverse saga. Though Avengers 6 is far from release, Dr. Doom’s debut seems closer than ever.

Feige also recently indicated the Fantastic Four won’t be an origin story feature stating, “A lot people know the basics, How do we take that and bring something that they’ve never seen before? We’ve set a very high bar for ourselves with bringing that to the screen.”

The MCU chief’s worry weighs truth in reality and in fact, with Spider-Man (Tom Holland), Marvel skipped the Uncle Ben comic origin storyline. And the young hero popped up as a cameo in Captain America: Civil War so the movies never addressed Peter Parker’s days before as Spider-Man and what led up to that event. Similarly, perhaps – Doctor Doom’s eventual transformation that makes him don the metal armor may not be directly addressed, or at least during his first appearance.  It remains to be seen what the studio has in store for the next big bad of the MCU.

Fantastic Four will release on November 8, 2024.
