It seems actor Michael B. Jordan, who played the role of supervillain Erik Killmonger in the highly celebrated 2018 released Black Panther film, has plans to make a return in Marvel Cinematic Universe movies in future, maybe even in Black Panther 2. Jordan’s portrayal of Killmonger was hugely appreciated by both critics and fans.
During a recent interview with MTV, when Jordan was asked about making a potential return to the MCU and reprising his role as Killmonger, he said that being a big Marvel fan, he would not miss any opportunity of making a comeback and joining the MCU. The actor went on to say that he would even like to team up with Ryan Coogler again given a chance even if Killmonger is already dead.
“I mean, I’m a fan, as you said, of Marvel, of comic books, everybody knows that,” Jordan said. “So I mean if there was ever an opportunity for me to come back and like join this universe and work with like Joe Russo, Kevin Feige, Victoria [Alonso], and everyone over there at Marvel, re-team with Ryan [Coogler] you know, of course, I would.”
The resurrection of characters isn’t a big thing in comic book based movies. So, bringing back one of the most favorite MCU villains Killmonger in Black Panther 2 won’t be big deal for the film studio, especially when fans are craving to see more of the character.
In related news, Michael B. Jordan has earned the Best Villain award at the recently held MTV Movie and TV Awards for his role as Erik Killmonger in Black Panther. He was nominated for the award along with Avengers: Infinity War’s Thanos (Josh Brolin), Star Wars: The Last Jedi’s Kylo Ren (Adam Driver), It’s Pennywise (Bill Skarsgard), and Legion’s Lenny Busker (Aubrey Plaza).
