Mission: Impossible – Fallout Director Christopher McQuarrie On Justice League Mustache Controversy

Mission: Impossible – Fallout director Christopher McQuarrie has finally come forward to address Henry Cavill’s Justice League mustache-gate on his official Twitter account.

It was after Justice League original director Zack Snyder stepped down from his post during production that Joss Whedon was brought in to oversee extensive reshoots and editing. The issue with Henry Cavill was that he had grown facial hair for his role in Mission: Impossible – Fallout, but, Cavill’s Superman in Justice League was clean shaven. As Paramount did not let Cavill shave for the Justice League reshoots, Warner Bros. resorted to removing Cavill’s facial hair digitally.

Unfortunately, the final digitally improvised product did not turn out as expected. Use of CGI to remove Cavill’s mustache gave a distinctly unnatural appearance to the actor’s upper lip. The digitally distorted Superman was so imminent in Justice League that fans were easily able to make out which of Superman’s scenes were reshot.

Recently when a Twitter user asked Christopher McQuarrie regarding who should be blamed for the freaky looking Superman in Justice League, the director replied that they tried their best to accommodate Justice League without impacting Mission: Impossible – Fallout. He added that he will talk about the matter in detail when he appears on the Empire Magazine Spoiler Podcast, with Chris Hewitt.

You can check out McQuarrie’s reply in the post below.

Christopher McQuarrie always had the desire to direct a Star Wars film. But, recently when he came across some Twitter posts trolling Star Wars: The Last Jedi director Rian Johnson, McQuarrie has now declared that he would like to stay far away from directing a Star Wars film.

My friend, After five minutes of this, I don’t know why you’re still on Twitter. I would have loved to make a Star Wars film someday. I’m cured,” McQuarrie’s tweeted.

How do you think about McQuarrie’s desire to never direct a Star Wars film? Let us know in the comments down below!
