With every passing day, MCU fans’ excitement to see Namor in Black Panther 2 swells. Tenoch Huerta, the actor portraying the Sub-Mariner is beginning to feel the masses’ anticipation to witness Mexican heritage in the Hollywood spotlight. His debut does great strides in representation and in a recent interview, the Narco star got a good picture of what his role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe means for the larger community.
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is inching closer to its theatrical release schedule so Marvel Studios has upped the marketing, releasing brand new teasers as well as engaging the film’s stars in early press. Huerta was recently in a driving interview where he addressed his experience and journey of being a part of Marvel.
Huerta was briefly left speechless when the interviewer surprised him by stopping the car in front of a vibrant mural showcasing Namor the Sub-Mariner (begins at 56:00 runtime in the video). The actor slowly begins to get teared up from the experience and says, “This is more valuable than a fucking Oscar,” he said, unable to look away. “It’s worth more.” (as translated by Gizmodo).
While Huerta is yet to make his debut, there’s already a call to see Namor in a standalone Marvel movie. The Sub-Mariner is trending on Twitter with fans parading stills of the MCU character as a shown of support. Readers can check some of the reactions below.
Namor is an icon now. I'm so happy for him. #Namor NEEDS a solo film now imo! Representation matters so much for so many people. Thank you Marvel, and thank you Tenoch 😭<3 https://t.co/TbXDzh7LCu

The MCU is all set to introduce a powerhouse that is Namor in Black Panther 2. The trailers have already teased his flight abilities but a new TV spot showed M’Baku trying to attack the Talocan King but he blocks the impact with quite an ease and remains unflinching. That says a lot about Namor’s strength since not even the leader of Jabari, the only warrior who could fiercely face T’Challa in combat (aside from Killmonger) — seems to be of no match.
It’s apparent that only the vibranium-donning Black Panther could face Namor. All hints suggest Letitia Wright takes on the mantle but can she pack the punch to stop the Talocan Kingdom’s assault on Wakanda, Let’s find out when Black Panther: Wakanda Forever arrives in theaters on November 11.
