Netflix and Marvel’s highly anticipated series The Punisher is expected to be released sometime this year. While the series is yet to get a release date, the network continues to build the hype around it. Following the release of a trailer and set of new photos, Netflix has unveiled a new motion poster giving a glimpse at the leading character Frank Castle.
The teaser was released on the series’ official Twitter account a few hours ago. It shows Jon Bernthal as The Punisher and his trademark skull imagery.

The Punisher features the events following the end of Daredevil Season 2. It sheds light on Frank Castle backstory and his transformation as The Punisher. He is out to exact revenge on his enemies for killing his family. As he begins the life of a vigilante, he gets involved in a bigger conspiracy. He discovers that everything is linked to the time he spent in the armed forces.
Bernthal recently appeared at Salt Lake Comic Con where he participated in a panel discussion with his fans and talked about the much-awaited series. He reveals that the fans have not seen The Punisher yet. His transformation is not yet over. He is still dealing with the trauma.
“The way I look at it is that his time in the military is sort of separate. The character that was in Daredevil season two, that wasn’t the Punisher to me,” Bernthal said as quoted by Comic Book.
“That was a man that this traumatic event – he’s still reeling from that. Everything in his life has been a reaction to that,” the actor continued. “He’s not a guy looking to rid the criminal element of Hell’s Kitchen; He could care less about that. He’s not about that,” he added.
The Punisher Season 1 premieres on Netflix sometime this year. An earlier report hinted a possible release date. but it hasn’t been officially confirmed yet. Keep visiting PursueNews for more updates and news.
