A new Aquaman promotional image has surfaced online, courtesy of Empire Magazine, which shows Arthur Curry (Jason Momoa) and Mera (Amber Heard) standing in a cave in front of a hologram projection of Atlantis ruler King Atlan.
It is speculated that until this point Aquaman has not yet gotten his hands on the Trident of Neptune. So, Mera and Arthur are trying to find the hidden message from King Atlan to locate the missing iconic Trident. The picture in question doesn’t clearly show King Atlan, given the angle of the shot. So, it still remains a mystery as to who is portraying the character in the film.

Aquaman will span the vast, visually breathtaking underwater world of the seven seas as it reveals the origin story of half-human, half-Atlantean Arthur Curry. The underwater superhero will head on to the journey of a lifetime to discover who he really is. The film recently received a PG-13 rating for its “sequences of sci-fi violent and action” and “language”.
Directed by James Wan, Aquaman stars Jason Momoa as Arthur Curry, Amber Heard as Mera, Patrick Wilson as Orm a.k.a. Ocean Master, Nicole Kidman as Queen Atlanna, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta, Willem Dafoe as Nuidis Vulko, Dolph Lundgren as Nereus and Temuera Morrison as Thomas Curry.
Notably, Aquaman’s success is very crucial for Warners Bros. and DC Films especially as it is the first film being released after 2017’s Justice League. The James Wan’s epic underwater adventure garnered a positive but lukewarm response from the audiences in the test screenings conducted in Los Angeles late last month. The general consensus deemed the DC superhero film good, but not great.
We will have to wait for the film’s release to find out everything about the DC underwater superhero.
Aquaman is scheduled to arrive in theaters on December 21.
