Warner Bros. and DC Films have released a new clip from James Wan’s upcoming Aquaman movie that offers an in-depth look at the horrifying underwater army known as the Trench, as they pursue Jason Momoa’s Aquaman and Amber Heard’s Mera to the depths. The video clip in question was revealed at the movie’s exhibit at ComplexCon 2018 event, which was held this weekend in California.
The clip posted by Twitter user Carlos Salcines shows when Arthur and Mera jumping off a boat as hundreds of Trench swarm give them a chase. It also mentions a power that would unite all the kingdoms of the ocean. You can check out the video clip below.
Created by Geoff Johns and Ivan Reis during their New 52 run on Aquaman, the Trench are deadly creatures that have enhanced physical abilities. The Trench’s exact role in the upcoming film is currently unknown. It remains to be seen whether or not they’ll team up with Orm or Black Manta in their fight against Arthur Curry.

He teased that he will be taking a long nap now before heading for the film’s press promotions.

After two years of consuming and devouring my every waking hour, this little indie movie is finally done. It was a monster undertaking. I can’t THANK enough the amazing post team of VFX/editorial/sound for working tirelessly around the clock — crazy long days, 7 days a week, for many many many weeks without a day off — towards making this a unique and beautiful film. Everyone poured their heart and soul into it, and I can’t wait to share this 21st December! In the meantime, I’m gonna go take a really long nap now.
