Those have already watched Avengers: Infinity War are aware of the fact that Thanos has wiped off half of the world’s population with just the snap of his fingers. Among the ones who have fallen prey to the Mad Titan’s devastating act are Spider-Man, Doctor Strange, Winter Soldier, Black Panther, Scarlet Witch, Star-Lord, Groot, Drax, and Mantis.
So, everything is now in the hands of the surviving superheroes Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Hulk, Black Widow, War Machine, Hawkeye, and Rocket. They’ll be joined by Captain Marvel, Ant-Man and the Wasp as well.
The film’s post-credits scene showed Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) and Agent Maria Hill (Cobie Smulders) also fall victim to the snap. But before Fury disappears, he leaves a pager message to someone. The pager, once triggered, lights up with Captain Marvel’s red, yellow and blue icon, seemingly indicating that the page has been received.
The new Chinese poster also features a Captain Marvel-branded pager. So, this further confirms Captain Marvel’s inclusion in the upcoming Avengers 4. But, before watching the female superhero joining Earth’s mightiest heroes in their quest to reverse Thanos’ doing, fans will have their first meeting with Captain Marvel when the character’s standalone film hits theaters next spring.
Directed by Anna Boden & Ryan Fleck, Captain Marvel stars Brie Larson as Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel, Jude Law as Mar-Vell, Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Clark Gregg as Phil Coulson, Lee Pace as Ronan the Accuser, Gemma Chan as Minn-Erva, Djimon Hounsou as Korath the Pursuer, and Ben Mendelsohn, McKenna Grace, Lashana Lynch, and Algenis Perez Soto in yet-to-be-disclosed roles.
Captain Marvel will debut in theaters on March 8, 2019.
