Fans are already excited for the three Marvel Studios movies lined up for release next year. The first of the lot due for release is March 2019 is Captain Marvel. The upcoming film will introduce the first female Marvel superhero to the world.
Some new Captain Marvel promo art has surfaced online offering the best look yet at the MCU’s newest superhero. There’s one image that shows Captain Marvel looking fierce and powerful wearing the comic-accurate helmet and her blue and red costume. The second one shows Brie Larson as Danvers as she throws a mega-powerful punch. A few of the other promo artworks are used for the movie’s merchandises.
Notably, the film’s trailer only offered a brief glimpse at Danvers’ Kree-colored helmet with her hair coming through the top, styling it into an impromptu Mohawk. You can check out the new promo art below.
Last week, Marvel released a new international poster for Captain Marvel that had a new tagline. The Japanese poster in question features a tagline which on translation reads “Lost Past, Memories Trapped, Powers Gained. Is this me? The Story before the Avengers.” The original tagline for the movie is “Higher, Further, Faster,” which a 2014 Captain Marvel story by Kelly Sue DeConnick and David Lopez.
Set in the 1990s, the upcoming film will see Captain Marvel as a member of the Kree Starforce who has forgotten all her memories from her past life on Earth as a member of the Air Force.
“I keep having these memories. I see flashes. I think I had a life here. But I can’t tell if it’s real,” Captain Marvel says in a voice-over in the trailer.
Directed by Anna Boden, the film stars Brie Larson as Carol Danvers, Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Jude Law as Marv-Vell, Djimon Hounsou as Korath, Lee Pace as Ronan, Ben Mendelsohn, Lashana Lynch, Gemma Chan as Minn-Erva, Kenneth Mitchell as Joseph Danvers, Clark Gregg as Phil Coulson, Algenis Perez Soto, Rune Temte, and McKenna Grace.
The film is due for release on March 8, 2019, just a couple of months before Avengers 4.
