Deadpool 2 turned out to be one of the biggest hits of the year. The film raked in more than $734 million at the global box office worldwide, making it the fifth highest-grossing film of 2018 and also the third highest-grossing R-rated film.
While critics, as well as the fans, loved Wade Wilson’s portrayal of the Merc with the Mouth, there’s one another character that also received a big share of appreciation, its Josh Brolin’s Cable.
Makeup artist Bill Corso recently shared a couple of pictures on Instagram showcasing a 3D prop that was created for Cable’s metal arm. Corso explained that the 3D prop shown in the pictures is differed from what was actually shown in Deadpool 2. The 3D prop shows off the “diseased” color of the skin and the lighting underneath the arm which was ultimately deemed too similar to the Terminator.

Earlier this month, concept artist and creature designer Jerad S. Marantz also shared an early concept art that he created for Cable’s iconic metal arm. Marantz captioned the picture with a detailed insight into how he designed the arm based on the idea that Cable had embedded this prosthetic underneath the tech from the techno-organic virus that the character suffers from. Notably, the version of Cable’s arm as seen in the picture differs a lot from the final version appearing in the film.
The concept artist also shared some up-close looks at Cable’s time traveling suit, which featured a variety of textures.
Directed by David Leitch, Deadpool 2 revolves around the Merc with the Mouth who forms the team called X-Force to protect a young mutant from the time-traveling soldier Cable. The film also stars Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead, Stefan Kapicic as Colossus, Leslie Uggams as Blind Al, Karan Soni as Dopinder, Zazie Beetz as Domino, and Julian Dennison as Russell.
Deadpool 2 will be available on Digital HD on August 7 and on 4K Ultra HD and Blu-Ray on August 21.
