New Godzilla: King Of The Monsters Character Posters Feature Mothra, Rodan & Ghidorah

The highly anticipated Godzilla: King of the Monsters will see coming together of iconic kaiju monsters- Mothra, Rodan, and the three-headed King Ghidorah- against Godzilla. Director Mike Dougherty has unveiled a series of new posters on Twitter that offers the best-detailed look at the trio of titans, soaring through the air in apocalyptic action.

The posters feature each of the three titans- Ghidorah, Mothra, and Rodan- along with some military aircraft. Interestingly, the posters are accompanied by quotes from the Book of Revelation teasing their god-like powers.

The first yellow hued poster shows the three-headed King Ghidorah’s fiery faces with crackles of lightning coming from its mouths.

They have as king over them, the angel of the Abyss. A star fallen from heaven to earth, he opened the shaft of the bottomless pit, and from the shaft rose smoke like that of a great furnace, and the sun and the air were darkened…” Ghidorah’s poster caption read.

The second blue-hued poster shows Mothra coming out from the mist with both her wings fully extended.

Then from the smoke came locusts on the earth, and they were given power like the power of scorpions over the earth. They were told not to harm the grass or any green growth or any tree, but only those of mankind,” Mothra’s poster caption read.

The third poster offers a closer look at Rodan’s giant beak and claws. The terrifying iconic beast looks ready to take on a fight.

For the Beast that comes up out of the Abyss will make war with them, and overcome them… and kill them,” Rodan’s poster caption read.

The new posters come on the heels of the second Godzilla: King of the Monsters trailer which was released earlier this week.

Godzilla: King of Monsters is a follow up to 2014’s Godzilla film reboot directed by Gareth Edwards. The film follows the story of Dr. Emma Russell (Vera Farmiga), a scientist working for the beastie-hunting organization Monarch, and her daughter Madison, portrayed by Millie Bobby Brown, who gets kidnapped by a mysterious organization.

Legendary Comics has also announced a graphic novel titled Godzilla: Aftershock which will serve as a prequel to Godzilla: King of the Monsters.

The film is set to release in theatres on May 31, 2019.
