Earlier last Thursday, the second trailer for Ocean’s 8 was released, giving a glimpse into the movie’s plot but still keeping its focus away from the main characters. One question that’s sure to have popped up on fans mind after watching the trailer is if Anne Hathaway’s character Daphne Kluger is part of the titular eight or just another victim in this grand scheme.
While that question remains unanswered, Warner Bros. has released a new photo of Hathaway in focus and Helena Bonham Carter in the background. You can find the photo below.
Bonham Carter’s character is a fashion designer known as Rose. Glimpses of her character interacting with Hathaway’s Daphne Kluger were shown in the trailer as well. In the new photo, it looks like Rose the Jewellery expert has managed to get ‘in’ the Met Gala and up close with Kluger.
In the trailer, Daphne Kluger, the rich celebrity was portrayed as the victim carrying the main item of Heist that Debbie Ocean and the rest are after. But Hathaway was also part of the main poster that shows all 8 women together.
Any fan of the franchise would know it is possible for Hathaway’s character to be part of Ocean’s 8 gang as well. It is a point of twist that the filmmakers could have explored in the likes of surprising the audience or perhaps even the entire group recruited by Debbie Ocean.
It could mean that Debbie might be the only person aware of Kluger also being ‘in’ on the heist. Currently, these are mere speculations and it is likely James Corden’s character could be surprisingly revealed as the eighth member.
Perhaps, we’ll know the answer to that question as more promotional photos and TV spots are released for the movie.
