New Venom Poster Teases Eddie Brock’s Bond With Symbiote

After waiting for months, fans finally got a glimpse of Tom Hardy’s transformation into Venom in a new trailer released by Sony Pictures at the CinemaCon exhibition in Las Vegas. The two-minute thirty-three-second long trailer gives fans a rough idea of what to expect from the film’s story.

Unlike the last trailer released in February, the new trailer shows the Lethal Protector in action and the transformation of Eddie Brock into the alien symbiote. Thanks to a leaked clip, fans got to see Hardy’s symbiotic antihero even before the official trailer release.

The upcoming film is an origin story for Venom with Carnage being portrayed as the antagonist. It takes inspirations from both Lethal Protector and Planet of the Symbiotes comic book storylines. The story basically revolves around a reporter named Eddie Brock who gets infected with an alien symbiote that transforms him into the title character. Notably, Eddie has his own way of reporting which he describes as, “I follow people who do not want to be followed.”

The trailer also shows Eddie’s love interest Anne Weying, played by Michelle Williams. It has been revealed that Weying has some connection with the Life Foundation.  She works for a firm that works for the Life Foundation. The trailer ends with Brock being enveloped by the alien symbiote as he declares, “We are Venom.”

Venom is not a Marvel Studios production. It’s just that the character’s story originates from the pages of Marvel Comics. So, the trailer has the Marvel logo attached to it. You can check out the new Venom trailer below.

Alongside the trailer, the filmmakers also released a new poster that showcases the two sides of the anti-hero. It shows Tom Hardy in mid-transformation as Eddie Brock a.k.a. Venom as the symbiote covers half of his body. You can check out the poster below.

Venom is set to release in theaters on October 5, 2018.
