Nightwing: Chris McKay Gives Update On Film’s First Script Draft

A couple of days ago, Nightwing director Chris McKay announced on Twitter that the script work on the movie is in its last stage. He also revealed that they are currently working on ripomatic footage of the proposed film to show to the production studio.

Now, the LEGO Batman Movie director is up with a new tweet that claims that Nightwing’s first script draft is almost complete. The update came in response to a Twitter user who joked that his Valentine’s Day will not complete without the Nightwing surprise that McKay had promised earlier.

The update is: The first draft of the script is nearly done… but we are taking our time with this movie. It will be a long process,” McKay tweeted.

The Nightwing director reiterated that DC, Geoff Johns, and the Warner Bros team are taking their own time to work on the film and it’s surely going to be a long process. He ensured fans that the final result final will definitely be something big. McKay went on to explain that the entire process will take a lot of time, so, fans should not expect casting related news anytime soon.

Hi! Some early VDay news: Nightwing script expected very soon. Working on rip-o-matic to show studio. This is going to be a LONG process. So don’t expect casting news anytime soon. We are taking our time. Expect big things from DC, Geoff Johns, and WB team! Exciting year ahead!!,” the tweet read.

Furthermore, McKay also started a poll on Twitter asking fans to vote for the singular most important quality that they would look for in an actor while casting for Nightwing.

Notably, nothing about the movie’s plot or about the lead character has been revealed yet. Fans are excited to know who is going to portray DCEU’s Dick Grayson, who will be the villain and if any other DC characters like Batgirl, Catwoman, etc, would make an appearance in the upcoming Nightwing movie.

Nightwing will land in theatres on February 1, 2019.
