Since Chris McKay was announced to helm DCEU’s Nightwing, fans have been interested to hear his vision for the character. Fortunately, the director is quite active on Twitter to respond to his fans regarding his upcoming standalone DC film.
Recently, McKay was asked a question that has been on every fan’s mind. The director was asked if he was a fan of the red costume or Blue for Nightwing.
Over the years, Nightwing has been known for his blue and black combination suit. But the character has also donned the red costume in DC Comics.
Recently, DC Animated also chose to change Nightwing’s costume to red in Teen Titans: The Judas Contract. It was a move that wasn’t accepted by the masses, especially classic DC Comics fans.
Fortunately, it looks like McKay would support the blue and black costume over red. The director responded to the fan by sharing a photo of Nightwing merchandise.
The toy revealed Nightwing that we all known from The New Teen Titans. Furthermore, the character was wearing the classic blue and black costume with collars up. Fans can check out the tweet below.
By far, we haven’t heard any news regarding DCEU’s next step with Nightwing. Fans on social media have been requesting McKay to cast Deathstroke as the main villain since the character has allegedly lost primary significance as the antagonist in The Batman.
Chris McKay rose to fame after directing The Lego Batman. The animated DC film received acclaimed reviews from fans and critics.
