No Hard Feelings early reactions are positive calling it “heartfelt sex comedy”, Jennifer Lawrence makes stunning appearance at premiere event

The verdict for No Hard Feelings is overwhelmingly positive all thanks to Jennifer Lawrence, who – going by critics’ social media reviews “carried” the movie. The coming-of-age comedy flick stars newcomer Andrew Barth Feldman as Percy Becker, an introverted kid with helicopter parents who task JLaw’s Maddie to take his virginity before he leaves for college.

No Hard Feelings had its premiere in NYC earlier on Tuesday and Jennifer Lawrence made a stunning appearance to the event donning a sheer white gown Christain Dior dress. Fortunately, it’s not just the actress’ attire that critics and fans are raving over – the early social media reactions are praising the X-Men actor for co-producing and starring in what’s being called “legitimately raunchy” film, as Flickering Myth’s Rob Wick said.

While JLaw and Andrew Barth Feldman’s chemistry appears to have been one of the elements of its success – Jennifer’s comedy chops and her raunchy acting have some like Collider’s Nate Richard calling her “the new queen of R-rated comedies”.

While the trailer teased JLaw in provocative sequences wearing a skimpy pink dress – some film critics have stated the movie is more than just a sex comedy and is “heartfelt”. Like TCM host Dave Karger says, “What I didn’t expect was its’ gigantic heart.” Gene Stupnitsky‘s film is being applauded for having the charm of early 2000s comedy.

The only criticism seems to be for the third act and few like The Playlist’s Gregory Ellwood have questioned the necessity for spending $70 million on its production. Nonetheless, it’s safe to say No Hard Feelings is a critically acclaimed raunchy comedy. Readers can check out reactions below.

JLaw is not new to performing roles that required raunchy performances with her past films like Red Sparrow and Mother! being a testament. However, No Hard Feelings is her first R-rated comedy and from the looks of it, fans hope to see the Don’t Look Up actor take up more roles with similar themes.

No Hard Feelings arrives in theaters on June 23.
