‘Not Guilty’: Internet reacts to Ezra Miller’s court order expiry on misconduct allegation of a minor, The Flash stans respond with #EzraMillerIsInnocent but critics hit back reminding actor’s choking & Hawaii incidents

With the expiry of Ezra Miller‘s temporary restraining order – The Flash star has finally spoken out against their allegations of misconduct with a 12-year-old non-binary, which were asserted by the child’s mother. In a statement, Ezra stated he is “very grateful” for the outcome but criticized the media claiming some if not all have “recklessly spread false claims”.

“Ezra Miller is not guilty”, is a statement that many of the actor’s supporters are choosing to use on social media since the temporary protective order set on them expired as of July 1. The actor who chooses to identify as a non-binary using they/them no longer has any pending legal actions against them. However, detractors are not convinced and expect them to address their Hawaii arrest incident and other reckless behaviors such as when they choked a woman.

While the actor did not directly address the rest of their reckless behaviors – Ezra Miller’s lawyer provided a further context in another statement in which they agree, “Ezra does not deny that in the midst of their struggle that they have made mistakes and behaved at times in ways they wish they could take back”. It appears they seem to be referring to instances like when Miller allegedly mocked authorities on Instagram.

The Flash fans spread #EzraMillerIsInnoccent but critics hit back

On the topic of the claims by the 18-year-old Tokota Iron Eyes’ mother, Miller seemingly notes, “I have been unjustly and directly targeted by an individual who the facts have shown has a history of such manipulative and destructive actions.” Though it is unclear if the line was meant for the mother.

Miller’s fanbase is spreading the hashtag, #EzraMillerIsInnoccent whilst doubling down on their statement. A growing number of Miller’s stans are sharing the #EzraMillerIsInnoccent hoping for an apology from individuals that engaged in assassinating the actor’s character. Though some critics on social media pushed back against the use of the term “lifted” for the temporary protective order to clarify it was expired and does not necessarily state Ezra Miller was innocent.

In addition, Daily Beast’s Marlow Stern, the reporter who broke the story on Miller landing a temporary harassment prevention order has pushed back, “I reported this story. what miller is saying here is absolute horseshit.”

The timing of Miller’s statement couldn’t be better as Warner Bros. film, The Flash suffers greatly at the box office with over 1,500 theaters choosing to pull the movie’s screenings as of this Friday. It remains to be seen if the new development could impact the film’s earnings positively.

Even supporters insist Ezra’s reaction to the allegations comes too late although they hope their mental health recovery journey continues. In any case, the fandom remains divided on Miller potentially reprising the Barry Allen role in James Gunn‘s DCU.

Many also called for Hollywood’s accountability when WBD chose to include Ezra on The Flash movie’s red carpet. While their presence was limited to fan interactions, inside the premiere auditorium, they chose to thank the execs and filmmakers responsible for the fruition of the speedster flick.
