‘Not my Spider-Man’: Tom Holland trends for NSFW scene in The Crowded Room, stans pushback against homophobic criticism & mentions to Challengers actress, ‘Zendaya watching’

Zendaya‘s risque threesome in Challengers pales in comparison to Spider-Man: No Way Home actor Tom Holland‘s same-sex steamy scene in The Crowded Room episode 8 or at least according to the internet’s reaction on social media. The 27-year-old Marvel star performed an NSFW sequence in the Apple TV series, in which he plays Danny Sullivan, a character suffering from Dissociative identity disorder.

Tom is facing homophobic backlash over his steamy sex sequence in The Crowded Room episode 8. Tweets like “Not my Spider-Man” and name-dropping the actor’s reel and real-life partner Zendaya through meme imageries are being circulated on Twitter.

Some were making references to an NSFW animation gif of devious Reptilian visual imagery. However, avid supporters have clashed with the detractors arguing Holland deserves an Emmy next year for his performance.

A few cinephiles were disappointed over the sexualized imagery in the recent mainstream media landscape, pointing to Island Boys’ viral kiss incident, the Adam22 controversy & more. Readers can check out reactions below.

Earlier in June, Daya’s role in The Challengers attracted similar dissent on Twitter over the R-rated film showcasing the Euphoria actress in a racy love triangle sequence. But many pushed back reminding that the two stars are actors at work.

In this scenario, Holland stans were quick to counter the backlash by mentioning past Spidey actors engaging in same-sex couple sequences. Robert Downey Jr. and Toby Maguire performed a similar NSFW scene in 2000’s Wonder Boys.

Andrew Garfield has also not shied away from performing LGBTQ scenes. The tick, tick… BOOM! star performed a theatre play portraying a gay man. In addition, the actor has also suggested Peter Parker can be gay.

Meanwhile, Tom’s followers on social media are rather praising his acting range displayed in the Crowded Room. Some are also calling it an award-worthy performance, “Give Tom Holland his Emmy next year I’m serious,” as one fan @spideyy_ven0m noted on Twitter.

Sadly, both Tom and Zendaya’s relationship has continued to attract unnecessary press lately. The star recently addressed it on a podcast, “I don’t talk about it,” Holland said. “I try my best to keep it as private as possible, we both feel very strongly that that.”

Tom is expected to return for Sony Pictures’ Spider-Man 4 which is currently in pre-production. meanwhile, Z stans are looking forward to her role in Dune: Part Two and Euphoria though the latter might not arrive until 2026 due to the Writers and SAG strike.
