Fans React To Oliver’s Identity Being Unmasked In Arrow Season 6 Episode 1

While television viewers and fans have been eagerly awaiting the return of Arrow season 6, many fans did not quite expect to see Oliver Queen being outed as the Green Arrow in the last scene of season 6 episode 1 that premiered on October 12.

In the final moments towards the end of the episode, Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) gets a call from Felicity Smoak asking him to switch on the television. The news report showcases a photograph of Oliver with his hood down, and his face revealed clearly as the Green Arrow.

We don’t know as of now where exactly the picture came from, but it is quite possible that the photograph was taken by one of Curtis’s T-spheres, which was stolen from the armory in the lair.

Talks have been on for a long time now about Oliver Queen revealing his identity, especially with Amell too mentioning this on several occasions. However, it was always thought that the revelation would happen at the right moment on Oliver’s terms.

Back in 2015, Amell had suggested the idea of Oliver Queen and Green Arrow existing and working together. While explaining the difference between the both, Amell had said, “I think that the whole idea of running for mayor – intrinsic in it is that we’re going to separate the Oliver Queen and Green Arrow character because Oliver Queen as a man representing the city can do things that the Green Arrow can’t.”

“The Green Arrow can take down the city’s criminals but he can’t rally a crowd with a speech. Which is one of the things that I’ve really enjoyed doing this year. I’ve had more speeches this year — both good and bad — than I’ve probably had in the first three seasons combined. So, no, we definitely want to keep those two things separate.”

Meanwhile, Arrow fans have expressed surprise on social media after watching Oliver queen being outed. Here are few reactions embedded below.

It remains to be seen what will be Oliver’s next move in the will coming episodes. Arrow Season 6 Episode 2 airs at 9 p.m. ET/PT every Thursday on The CW.
