Peter Jackson Might Be Considering Helming A DCEU Movie [Rumor]

Rumors are that Peter Jackson is possibly considering directing a DCEU movie. The DC Extended Universe has already rolled out five blockbuster movies beginning its journey with the Man of Steel in 2013. The last of the lot was 2017’s Justice League that did not turn out well among critics as well as audiences.

Currently, there are three DCEU movies lined up for release in the next two years including James Wan’s Aquaman in 2018, David F. Sandberg’s Shazam! and Patty Jenkins’ Wonder Woman 2 in 2019. There are still a lot of DCEU movies in the pipeline that are in search of writers, directors, and producers. If a new rumor is to be believed, Peter Jackson might get roped in for one of such movies.

According to a new report coming from The One Ring, Jackson and his New Zealand production crew are currently giving a thought to whether signing onto Amazon’s Lord of the Rings TV series or joining the DCEU. It still remains unclear if Peter is considering writing, directing, or producing a DC movie.

Notably, both the projects are being developed under Warner Bros. Pictures’ oversight. So, whatever their decision may be, Jackson and his crew will end up working with some of the same people anyway.

Jackson is most well-known for directing and producing The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit trilogies. It was recently reported that Amazon and New Line Cinema are interested in getting Jackson on board for the Lord of the Rings series.

If Peter Jackson indeed says a yes, it would be interesting to see how Amazon would look to involve him. As per the report, Jackson is just one name on a list of many creative types that Amazon is reaching out to.
