Praises For ‘Solo: A Star Wars Story’ Comes At The Cost Of The Last Jedi

Despite getting good reviews from the critics and the audiences, Ron Howard’s Solo: A Star Wars Story has unfortunately failed to earn as much money as expected by the makers. The real reason for the film’s box office failure is currently unknown.

Director Ron Howard is, however, leaving no stone unturned to try and convince Star Wars fans to go to the theatres and watch Solo: A Star Wars Story. He has been sharing positive praises for the film on social media platforms as well as retweeting audiences’ comments about the Han Solo origin film. Unfortunately, in the process, some of Howard’s retweets come have unknowingly put down The Last Jedi.

While some of the tweets share fan’s favorite moments from the latest Star Wars film, some others mention that the film is far better than its predecessor The Last Jedi. In fact, some tweets straightaway slammed Rian Johnson’s directed Star Wars movie like the one below.

“Unpopular opinion: #SoloAStarWarsStory was downright fantastic and instantly became my third favorite Star Wars film and gave me a healthy heaping of sweet goodness after the pile of burnt poop that Last Jedi was,” one of the tweets read. “More of this please @DisneyStudios.”

In addition to sharing positive comments about Solo: A Star Wars Story, Howard is also responding to fans’ comments. When a Twitter user commented that he has decided to skip Solo because of his horrifying experience with The Last Jedi, Howard’s replied back saying that skipping Solo would be a big loss for him.

“OK – Sorry you won’t see and hear it on big screen….” Howard wrote.

Released last month, Solo: A Star Wars Story has earned a total of $148.9 million at the domestic box office and $264.2 million at the global box office in the first two weeks of release. Some reports blame The Last Jedi’s awful performance for Solo’s poor reception among audiences, while some others have concluded Disney’s poor marketing efforts as the main culprit.

Solo: A Star Wars Story is currently playing in theaters now.
