Prime Video has landed on hot water for censoring The Boys season 3 episode 6 Herogasm in India and fans are not having it. This week’s release was touted by the cast and crew Antony Starr, showrunner Eric Kripke and many others as one of the most disturbing episodes in the series for showcasing plenty of graphic nudity but sadly the scenes were cleverly framed out for Indian viewers.
The Boys season 3 episode 6 was the most teased event by Prime Video, the countdown to the infamous comic miniseries adaptation felt like an Endgame culmination. Unfortunately, not all viewers got to experience Herogasm in all its glory. The orgy fest at the TNT twin’s home featured multiple BDSM-Esque sequences, supes getting inventive in bed and quite a few NSFW shots that are difficult or gross to put in words. Unfortunately, none of them made it to the final cut streamed on Amazon Prime Video India and PursueNews can confirm after comparing the US version.
Can’t say they didn’t warn viewers since Herogasm began with a warning message stating, “Some scenes may not be suitable for some, really most, let’s be honest all viewers. But rest assured that any consensual relationship depicted, be they human, animal, superhero, or other, aren’t real, harmed no one, and in fact cost a hilariously large amount in visual effects.” Even so, majority of the nude sequences were portrayed differently by removing, editing or blurring out certain frames. So, Prime Video India censored, blurred, edited, zoomed in to shots to not show areas of several frames in #Herogasm.

The good news is that The Boys S03E06 Herogasm is awesome. The bad news is, Amazon Prime India has indeed censored the Herogasm sequence in the episode to some degree. So I'd recommend everyone to Jack Sparrow the episode.

What is even the point of paying a premium, if you're gonna censor your shows here in India @PrimeVideoIN? #Herogasm is heavily censored and some @TheBoysTV season 3 episodes also received this kind of censorship. It was fine until season 3, so what happened here?

For context, the decision could’ve been triggered due to the self-regulation code set forth for OTTs in India by Digital Media Content Regulatory Council (DMCRC). It’s unclear if further episodes from The Boys season 3 would also be subject to such edits. Luckily, the fight scene between Butcher, Soldier Boy and Hughie vs. Homelander sequence, in particular, was untouched. Though it should be noted that the first episode during Termite’s sex scene was also subject to edit.
The Boys season 3 episode 7 will air next Friday on Prime Video.
