Netflix’s highly anticipated web series The Punisher is set to premiere this fall. Starring Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle/Punisher, the series tells the story of a vigilante fighting the underworld. Recently, Marvel released a synopsis for the series revealing what to expect when the show goes on air.
The synopsis for The Punisher teases how Frank discovers a bigger conspiracy while investigating his wife and children’s murder. He uncovers the dark side of New York and the criminal underworld.
“After exacting revenge on those responsible for the death of his wife and children, Frank Castle (Jon Bernthal) uncovers a conspiracy that runs far deeper than New York’s criminal underworld. Now known throughout the city as The Punisher, he must discover the truth about injustices that affect more than his family alone,” reads the synopsis for the series.
The Punisher is Frank’s solo series which is expected to unravel his past and delve deeper in his association with Karen Page. For those who don’t remember, Bernthal’s character debuted in “Daredevil” Season 2.
The cast also includes Ben Barnes as Billy Russo, Ebon Moss-Bachrach as David Lieberman, Amber Rose Revah as Dinah Madani, Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Daniel Webber as Lewis Walcott and Michael Nathanson.
In addition, Netflix has released a set of images giving a glimpse at the events of the series. As published on IGN, one of the images teases a reunion between Frank Castle and Karen Page. More images introduce the cast and the characters. Without revealing many details, it gives a glimpse of the supporting cast. The pictures show Frank trying to conceal his identity with a hoodie and his new bearded look.
Netflix is yet to announce the exact release date for The Punisher. Meanwhile, the series is expected to premiere sometime in November 2017.
