Sylvester Stallone will soon be back on the big screen playing another iconic role for his fanbase. Earlier this October, Sly began filming Rambo 5: Last Blood after wrapping up work on Creed 2 which is currently in theaters.
After over 2 months of filming in Bulgaria, Sly has finished filming the project. The Rocky actor revealed the news in a new video posted on his Instagram.
“Well that was it, that was my final shot. And Rambo 5 Last Blood, at least that’s what they are calling it, thus far,” says Sly in the video.
“And it’s been an amazing journey, it really has. This character was presented to me in 1980. And no one wanted to do it. As a matter of fact, I was the eleventh choice. People looked at this as almost as a cursed project. I looked at it and said this was an amazing opportunity.”
Earlier, Sly also shared several photos and video clips from the set while filming Rambo 5. You can check out the video and stills below.
Just recently, Sly confirmed on his Instagram posts that Creed 2 will be his last appearance as Rocky Balboa in the franchise. The actor passed on the mantle to actor Michael B. Jordan suggesting that there will be more movies based on the young Creed.
It seems like Rambo 5 might also be the last for Sly though the actor is yet to officially announce the news.
Rambo 5 will see the Sly on a quest to save a friend’s daughter who is taken by a Mexican cartel. A recent article by Splash Report has come out with more details regarding the film’s plot and more. But readers are advised that it contains heavy spoilers though the report is yet to be confirmed.
Rambo 5 is expected to make its way to theatres in 2019. From the looks of it, since the project has wrapped up filming, the studio might have a release date to announce soon.
