Reed Richards trends after John Krasinski responds to possibly returning for Fantastic Four movie & Emily Blunt plays Sue storm rumor

John Krasinski’s Reed Richards is making headlines, and so is Emily Blunt’s Sue Storm rumor ever since the A Quiet Place star’s evasive response on the possibility of the duo starring in the Fantastic Four movie. The internet, as usual, is campaigning for his return in Marvel’s first family feature which will kick off Marvel Cinematic Universe’ Phase 6.

When Krasinski was cast as Reed Richards for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, MCU fans were ecstatic by Marvel Studios’ decision to honor fan casting. Though that happiness was short-lived when Wanda (Elizabeth Olsen) spaghettified Mr. Fantastic. Still, many have held out hope over the possibility that The Office star would return as Earth 616’s version, heading the Fantastic Four.

During an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, the host spoke about the recent Fantastic Four announcement at SDCC and led with, “You’re not allowed to say anything.” Krasinski outright said “Nope,” as Fallon pressured for answer though it seemed like a scripted bit. “I’m not allowed to really ask you,” he added, as the two bantered around with Krasinski saying (“That’s right.”), before adding, “but… you think? You think?” “Seriously, what have you heard?” the actor tittered. “I need to know.” He firmly states, “They don’t tell you anything,” and Fallon continuing, “Not until right before you’re about to shoot.”

Fallon added more steam to the Fantastic Four conversation by bringing up, “there’s also rumor that your wife, Emily Blunt, will play Sue Storm.” To which Krasinski hilariously acted out a scenario to remind Marvel’s tight-wrapped policy to keep announcements hush-hush. Nonetheless, it’s got fans enthusiastic about his possible return, some even speculating the star reprising the character as a cameo appearance. Readers can find reactions below.

Blunt had earlier shattered hopes stating the superhero movie genre is “not up my alley. I don’t like them. I really don’t.” However, Hollywood has repeatedly reminded us that actors tend to play coy as Andrew Garfield did for Spider-Man: No Way Home. Also, Blunt’s interest in the Marvel franchise is public knowledge, especially since she regretted missing the opportunity to play Black Widow alongside Robert Downey Jr. in Iron Man 2.

Fantastic Four is scheduled for a 2024 release, with Marvel on the lookout to fill the director’s chair.
