REPORT: Director Joss Whedon Begins Justice League Reshoots, Details

A new report has revealed that Director Joss Whedon has begun the reshoots for Justice League. Currently, the production crew is in London for the filming and the new scenes have been told to be “significant” for the movie.

The news comes from BOF whose source has confirmed that these reshoots could possibly go on until August. The scenes that are being filmed aren’t “standard pick-ups,” According to the source.

While many fans were worried to hear the reshoot news, the source suggests that these additional filming is “positive” and looks to be an effort to make the film better for audience’s experience. Earlier, Henry Cavill also shared a photo on Instagram wearing his Superman costume. By the looks of it, The Man of Steel seems to be inside a trailer which suggests that he could be in London for the reshoots.

Currently, the reshoots don’t seem to be bad news for Justice League as its official release date remains unchanged. The DC film will go into post-production after its reshoots and looks to hits theaters on November 17th.

Recently, Forbes Contributor Mark Hughes also wrote a piece on Justice League rumor regarding its new filming. The journalist has also addressed the fact that “major reshoots” are common for any Hollywood film. Furthermore, he states that these changes are for the betterment of the movie.

Justice League’s reshoots were earlier handed over to Joss Whedon by Zack Snyder himself due to his unfortunate departure from the project. The Avengers director was initially brought in to direct Batgirl. However,  due to Snyder’s family tragedy, Whedon was chosen to complete the project.

Hi Everyone! I've been doing some Super Ruminations because this month is the 79th anniversary of Superman in Action Comics and thought it fitting to pass on this little fact. Who knew eh?? In January 1933, Jerry Siegel wrote a short story titled "The Reign of the Superman", which was illustrated by his friend Joe Shuster and self-published in a science fiction magazine. It told the story of a bald villain with telepathic powers. Trying to create a character they could sell to newspaper syndicates,Siegel re-conceived the "superman" character as a powerful hero, sent to our world from a more advanced society. He and Shuster developed the idea into a comic strip, which they pitched unsuccessfully. National Publications was looking for a hit to accompany their success with Detective Comics, and did not have time to solicit new material. Because of the tight deadline, editor Vin Sullivan was forced to make it out of inventory and stockpile pages. Sullivan asked former coworker Sheldon Mayer if he could help. Mayer found the rejected Superman comic strips, and Sullivan told Siegel and Shuster that if they could paste them into 13 comic book pages, he would buy them. #SuperRuminations #Superman #ActionComics
