Warner Bros. has been dominating the blu-ray sales this November thanks to two DCEU titles, Zack Snyder’s Justice League and The Suicide Squad standing among the top 3. Nonetheless, it’s the 4 hours Snyder cut that currently holds the first spot.
According to the report from Blu-Ray, the estimates for the week that culminated on November 13th revealed that the director’s cut DC title topped the Blu-Ray chart. Though, The Suicide Squad held the top position for the last three weeks.
For the ongoing week as of November 19th, Zack Snyder’s Justice League received an 85% HD share and sold 60% of the unit from 4K UHD format The second place goes to Universal Pictures’ Fast and Furious 9. Surprisingly, despite the ninth installment from the franchise receiving mixed reviews, it has sold over 92% of Blu-ray units with 48% of HD share and 3% units sold from the 4K UHD format.
Warner Bros. Home Entertainment holds the third spot via The Suicide Squad. The James Gunn-directed DC blockbuster is an R-rated flick with grossing of over $167 million worldwide. As mentioned in the report, The Suicide Squad sold 51% Blu-ray units with an HD share of 50% and 11% units sold from the 4K UHD format.
As Zack Snyder’s Justice League continues to make the big sales, it has prompted fans to once again demand the exploration of Snyderverse in the DC Cinematic Universe. So far, Warner Bros. has shared no plans to #RestoreTheSnyderverse, even in an Elseworlds setting. But during an interview, Snyder still shared his appreciation for fans that continue to campaign for his creative direction.
“As far as [the fans] persisting with that hashtag, I always just take it as, you know, the confidence the fans have in my work,” Zack says. “I just hope as I go forward that I really do my best to honor that confidence they have in me by just making them the best films I know how.”
