Rian Johnson Walks Us Through Behind-the-Scenes of ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’

Behind the scenes (BTS) video of Star Wars: The Last Jedi released online reveals fresh footage from all that transpired behind the screen during the making of the film and also showcases the vision and skill of director Rian Johnson. The footage also includes a new picture of Luke Skywalker standing by his Jedi history library.

The new BTS video offers us some incredible inside looks of the film. It walks us through the various sets of the latest installment in the Star Wars: The Last Jedi and acquaints us with the various characters in the story. The late Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, John Boyega, and Daisy Ridley among other actors praise the directors’ approach and vision.

The footage unveiled by USA Today begins with Johnson walking through the set of Star Wars: The Last Jedi and explaining how it feels to be directing one of the biggest movies of all time. “When I walk into the hallway, I flashback to when I was a kid with action figures inside,” reminisces Johnson. The footage tugs on our heartstrings as Johnson points out that it is the first time he is shooting with Daisy, Mark, and the first time that he is shooting a Star Wars movie.

Johnson definitely seems to have enjoyed making this beautiful movie and even getting lumps in his throat as he boarded the Millennium Falcon, and reflecting on the opportunity that he got to add to the Star Wars legacy.

With not even two months left for the release of Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Lucasfilm is hurrying up with its promotional and marketing efforts to increase the hype around the movie. Earlier this month, we saw the revelation of the poster and movie trailer, thereby raising many questions and increasing the curiosity of Star Wars fans. Even though die-hard fans would prefer that the plot and details are kept under the cover, the studio is only beginning with the movie promotion.

All that Star Wars fans can do right now is to wait patiently and hope that Johnson’s enthusiasm for the franchise has translated into a heart rendering chapter, thus laying the stage for an even better Star Wars episode 9.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi will release on December 15, 2017, and stars Adam Driver as Kylo Ren, Andy Serkis as Snoke, Gwendoline Christie as Captain Phasma, Oscar Isaac as Poe Dameron, Dohmnall Gleeson as General Hux, Lupita Nyong’o as Maz Kanata, and Anthony Daniels as C-3PO. The film also stars and Laura Dern and Benicio Del Toro.
