Riley Keough Expresses Desire to Play Poison Ivy Over Batgirl

Mad Max: Fury Road Actress Riley Keough expressed her desire to essay the role of Pamela Isley (Poison Ivy) rather than that of Barbara Gordon (Batgirl) in a DC Comics movie.

Riley Keough would rather play the villainess Poison Ivy than the Batgirl if the DC had to go ahead with a Batgirl movie.

After a fan suggested that Keough must play the role of the Batgirl or Poison Ivy in DCEU’s Batgirl, the actress replied that Poison Ivy is her favorite character. “I love poison ivy she’s my favorite,” said Keough. Check out the tweet below.

The DC Extended Universe presently has five films in different stages of production. Needless to say, there are innumerable iconic heroes and villains waiting to be cast. The Batgirl movie is just one such title in the pipeline.

Fans of Keough will surely be delighted to know her interest in the Poison Ivy character. Keough sure can pull off the character very well considering how she handled the high-octane action of Mad Max: Fury Road and the black comedy of Logan Lucky.

There have been a lot of speculations regarding the role of Poison Ivy character. Emma Stone, Megan Fox, Jessica Chastain, and Bryce Dallas Howard have in the past been rumored to be considered for this role.

Time alone will reveal whether Keough would end up with the role of the Lady of Leaves. The character could feature in DC’s Gotham City Sirens, wherein she could pair with Selina Kyle/Catwoman and Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn.

In the comics, Poison Ivy is known to share an interesting bond with Harley Quinn. If Keough is considered for the role, it is likely her role will also revolve around Robbie’s character in movies such as Gotham City Sirens.
