After a month-long hiatus, Riverdale Season 2 is finally returning its run this week. The CW series will be kicking off with episode 14 titled “Chapter Twenty-Seven: The Hills Have Eyes.” Fans can be assured that there is a lot of exciting stuff to look forward to.
As per the spoilers from the promo, Jughead (Cole Sprouse), Archie (KjApa), Veronica Lodge (Camila Mendes) and Betty (Lili Reinhart) will be heading out of the Riverdale town in hopes of relaxing weekend getaway. Meanwhile, back in town, there’s a lot to look forward to Cheryl (Madelaine Petsch) finds a new friend.
Recently, showrunner and Archie Comics creator Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa shared a photo on his official Instagram account revealing Cheryl and Toni (Vanessa Morgan) moment in the upcoming episode. The photo reveals the two ladies spending time together at Pop’s. Scroll down to view the photo captioned “And meanwhile, back in town…”
The picture has raised several questions. Fans are wondering if the two ladies will be the new couple in town. Recently, Petsch confirmed that Cheryl is the second bisexual character on the show. Previously, Toni confirmed her interest in men and women, both.
Fans must note that these are mere speculations. Whether Toni and Cheryl will come together or not remains to be seen.
In the meantime, Petsch confirmed that her fan-favorite character Cheryl is getting a new love interest in the show.
“I think some people will be surprised, and I think some people will totally have seen it coming,” Petsch told ELLE.com at the Maison-du-Mode and Perrier-Jouët gala for sustainable style in Los Angeles. “I’m very vague,” she added refusing to reveal the names.
Meanwhile, the media outlet is speculating that it could be either her long-time friend Josie McCoy (Ashleigh Murray) or Toni. Fans will remember a few scenes from recent episodes wherein Cheryl was seen making advances towards Josie.
In addition, Petsch offered a few more teasers from the remaining episodes of Riverdale Season 2.
“There will be more blood,” Petsch revealed. “There will be a musical episode, in which I play Carrie White from Carrie—that’s episode 18. Cheryl’s love interest is introduced in the next episode, and there’s also a lot more action at the end of the season.”
