Riverdale Season 3 Is Reportedly Bringing To Life A Memorable Archie Character

Riverdale Season 3 is set to introduce some new faces. The teen drama based on Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa’s comic series is casting a memorable Archie comic character known as Evelyn Evernever, who is expected to shake things up in the next installment.

According to That Hashtag Show’s report, Evelyn Evernever will be a “major recurring guest star.” The description reveals that the network is yet to cast the character for Riverdale Season 3 that will be played by an Early 20s female from any ethnicity. More details reveal that the character will have a few “dark secrets” she will be struggling to hide.

Otherworldly, seemingly omnipresent, and a bit odd, Evelyn is Edgar’s daughter and Betty’s new neighbor. She’s eager to befriend Betty and is surprisingly insightful for her age, but maybe hiding dark secrets about herself. (While not required, a possible direction for the role is a girl who is physically reminiscent of “Betty”.) MAJOR RECURRING GUEST STAR” reads the casting announcement as published by the abovementioned publication.

In the comics, Evelyn Evernever is remembered for role in “Little Archie” series (1953 to 83) where she played the role of a young girl who is acquainted with Archie and his gang. She is not a member of Archie’s core group. Shy and a bit of troubled, her only true friend is her doll, Minerva. She likes to think of herself a “bou’tiful gal.” After a long break, the character reappeared in one of the recent editions “Betty & Veronica Spectacular” where she kidnaps Archie. Also, in the comics, she happens to be Archie’s first kiss.

Meanwhile, the show is expected to focus on the aftermath of events that unfolded in Riverdale Season 2 finale. It ended with a major shocker wherein right after Archie is announced as the elected student body president, he is arrested for a murder he did not commit.

Season three will have a high genre element,” Aguirre-Sacasa told The Hollywood Reporter. “That’s what the show is. It’s not just about the Archie characters. It’s the Archie characters put into a specific genre, and we see how they relate and survive and adapt.”

Riverdale Season 3 is scheduled to premiere on Oct. 10 on The CW. Stay tuned for more updates and information on the same.
