Riverdale Season 3: KJ Apa Reveals Who He Thinks Will Help Archie In Prison

Archie Andrews will not be seen hanging out at Riverdale High, Pop Tate’s or at The Pembrooke for some time when Riverdale Season 3 premieres, as the fan-favorite character will be spending some time behind the bars.

Fans will remember the ending of Riverdale Season 2 finale with Archie being arrested for a murder of one of the intruders from the lake house, Cassidy Bullock. He is clearly being framed by Hiram Lodge, who also happens to be his girlfriend’s father and a mobster, for standing against him. These events unfolded right after Archie was announced as the elected student body president of Riverdale High.

In a recent interview with TV Line, Riverdale cast revealed who will be visiting Archie in the prison and will be helping him. KJ Apa, who plays the role of Archie Andrews, revealed that he wishes it was his onscreen father Fred who would be there for him. However, he feels his best friend and his girlfriend Veronica Lodge, played by Cole Sprouse and Camila Mendes respectively, will try to help him in one or the other.

I’d love to say Fred, but I think… I don’t know why, but I think Jughead.” Apa explained. “[I say Fred] just because, I think, if I was a father, I’d definitely want to be there for my son. But Veronica and Jughead. I’ve got a feeling Jughead’s going to try to help him in certain ways in there.”

Cole Sprouse confirmed that his character Jughead will try to help his friend out of the prison. The actor has a few ideas inspired from the movie Raising Arizona. The actor promises that his character will make sure Archie is out of prison.

Yeah, I think Jughead’s going to try to lead the charge to break him out of prison. Yeah, just break him out of prison.” Sprouse said. “Storm in on a loud-ass motorcycle and throw a stick of dynamite at the wall. I was thinking like Raising Arizona, the biker who just throws grenades at bunny rabbits. That’s Jughead’s Season 3.”

Fans can also expect to see Toni Topaz and Reggie to drop by the prison to meet Archie. In addition, it will be interesting to see how Archie handles his time in prison.

Recently, showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa revealed the title of the first episode of Riverdale Season 3 will be “Chapter Thirty-Six: Labor Day.” Along with the title he hinted at an engaging courtroom drama involving Archie’s honor.

Riverdale Season 3 airs Oct. 10 on The CW. Be sure to keep visiting Pursue News for more updates and information.
