Hollywood is going ga-ga for the Indian-Tollywood blockbuster RRR movie on Netflix. From Ram Charan’s irresistible charm to his bromance with co-star Jr. NTR and the breathtaking spectacle (Yes, the tigers) – critics, writers and actors are not short of praises for the adrenaline-filled theatrics in the action-drama helmed by S.S. Rajamouli and its popularity continues to push the title up in ranks on Netflix’s Top 10 viewed.
RRR movie has lately been climbing up the ladder among Netflix’s most-watched Non-English titles globally, trending in over 57 countries. In fact, the Tollywood blockbuster’s Hindi dubbed version holds the first spot with over 13 million hours of views on the streaming platform. Additionally, Netflix Geeked Week amping up promotions for RRR worked in the OTT giant’s favor with many film critics on Twitter coming across the movie and clearly, they weren’t disappointed to sit through the three-hour historical fiction action drama.
Some of the standout reactions to RRR came from Peacemaker star Steve Agee, Rick and Morty writer Heather Anne Campbell and other film insiders/journalists as can be seen in the tweets below. In May, Even Patton Oswalt applauded the flick and suggested experiencing it in IMAX.

#RRR is a balls-to-the-wall, adrenaline-filled, action-packed ride of a movie that doesn’t try to be anything more than that. I loved the bombastic set pieces, musical numbers, and bromance between the leads at the backdrop of a revolution. This is worth a theatrical experience. pic.twitter.com/iSEJ0LUiUM

Dear lord, #RRR is the closest cinema has gotten to capturing THE EPIC OF GILGAMESH. The insane feats of strength, the mythic language, the bros being bros except when they are not bros but they are still bros!! https://t.co/QGg59jwdd2

…#RRR is an action-packed epic for the ages! While it’s easily one of the best films of the year, it could very well go down as one of the best action films of the century too.
Be prepared to laugh, cry, & sweat. Full disclosure, the first 40 minutes gave me CHILLS. 6/5 stars https://t.co/NapqnC5tT1— Dempsey Pillot is @ #Tribeca2022 (@DempseyPillot) June 11, 2022
I'm only halfway through, but right now I kinda feel like we can get rid of all the other movies, because #RRR is basically *all* movies at once? Plus, TIGERS. pic.twitter.com/UcPacngwSb

#RRR was worth the 3 hours. Loved it!
My son said it was like Rambo and over the top like Fast & Furious.
Wasn’t expecting that dance number but it was fascinating! https://t.co/kSMubaQDzT

Many are also calling it “Real Cinema” a tagline that’s usually associated with artistic movies from directors like Martin Scorsese and recently Matt Reeves’ The Batman. The musical element, particularly the Naatu Naatu song which features the movie’s lead stars dancing in sync has also struck a chord.
RRR movie is an Inglourious Basterds-Esque anti-colonialist centric story but amplified with Indian cinema’s formula of breathtaking action sequences. It was one of the few Indian titles to have a massive opening weekend earning at the global box office. RRR’s grandeur has attracted many from the show biz since its debut on Netflix in May.
RRR in Hindi is currently on Netflix.
