After news of Geoff Johns exiting DC Entertainment broke out recently, a new rumor has started making rounds on social media claiming that Johns caused issues with Justice League original writer Chris Terrio.
Director Zack Snyder stepped away from post-production work on Justice League after the tragic death of his daughter. The film then went into the hands of Joss Whedon who reshot a major portion of the film. The end result was Justice League’s failure at the box office. The film debuted in theaters to mixed reviews.
When Vulture Senior Editor Kyle Buchanan came across news regarding Geoff Johns’ exit from DC, he took to Twitter to reveal that Johns played a key role in the Justice League script drama. Buchanan explained that original writer Chris Terrio was pretty disappointed with Johns who re-wrote much of his Justice League script.
Furthermore, Warner Bros. was also not satisfied with the way the film was shaping up under Zack Snyder and Johns. It resulted in the studio decision to bring in other writers for a footage summit and asked them to provide feedback about the film. The summit included some big names including Allan Heinberg, Seth Grahame-Smith, Andrea Berloff, and Joss Whedon.
In the end, The Avengers and Avengers: Age of Ultron writer-director Joss Whedon was finalized to take over the project. But, unfortunately, nothing went as expected and the film bombed at the box office.
Fans are still hoping that Warner Bros. might roll out Zack Snyder’s original cut of Justice League. Snyder’s recent activity on Vero has added fuel to the rumors that the film studio is planning to release the original cut next month at the upcoming San Diego Comic-Con 2018 event. He shared a picture on social media platform Vero featuring some of the actors on their way to Comic-Con 2016. It is possible it could be an indication that Snyder is planning to make a surprise appearance at the SDCC event next month.

I remember hearing that Geoff Johns rewrote so much of JUSTICE LEAGUE when Zack Snyder was still directing that Chris Terrio would complain, "Maybe *try* using some of my pages?" https://t.co/NOwj5sgIUd

WB was allegedly so unsatisfied with how the Johns/Snyder version was shaping up that they convened a footage summit for *other* writers including Joss Whedon, Allan Heinberg, Seth Grahame-Smith, and Andrea Berloff to offer feedback. Then they hired Whedon.
