Avengers 4 director Anthony and Joe Russo have finally dropped a plot hint which asks the audience to go back to Captain America: Civil War and closely observe a scene which connects to the final movie in phase 3.
Currently, Avengers 4 is still in the dark as the film’s title and plot are unknown. The photos leaked from the set have by far only managed to confuse fans rather than inform. While some have helped speculate time traveling theories, the movie itself still remains a mystery.
Fortunately, in a recent interview, Joe Russo spoke about a sequence from Captain America: Civil War which will necessarily play a role in Avengers 4.
In MTV’s Happy Sad Confused podcast, Director Joe Russo initially addressed the various Avengers 4 set photos that have surfaced online. But it looks like it didn’t come as a surprise to the studio. “It’s interesting because photos always leak, and there’s lots of conjecture about what those photos mean,” said Joe.
Later on, Joe Russo also went on to suggest that fans should go back and watch Captain America: Civil War, hinting that a scene plays an important role in the final film of Phase 3. Here’s what he had to say:
“Certainly, there is a five minute sequence in Civil War around a piece of technology that was laid in for a very specific reason. If you go back and look at that film, you may get a hint as to the direction.”
It’s most likely that the director is talking about the technology that was introduced as B.A.R.F by Tony Stark in Civil War. The virtual reality system abbreviated as Binary Augmented Retro-Framing is capable of hijacking the hippocampus to clear traumatic memories, according to Stark. But the tech cannot alter reality instead help people deal with depression.
Earlier, a couple of set photos from Avengers 4 revealed the B.A.R.F technology on set. The comment from Joe Russo only adds as an assurance that the virtual reality system will somehow aid the ensemble in their battle against Thanos or face a threat that currently remains unknown.
Avengers 4 is set to hit theatres on May 3, 2019. The film is supposed to be in post-production since the project was wrapped earlier this month.
