Ryan Reynolds Shares Hilarious Photo Of Deadpool Becoming A Part Of Disney

Finally, the Disney and Fox merger acquisition has been completed as 21st Century Fox revealed the news via a press release. All of Fox’s Marvel properties are now back to its original owner, Marvel Studios under Walt Disney.

Several actors in the industry have been reacting to the announcement on social media. But Ryan Reynolds stood out the most by reacting to the news with a photo of Deadpool.

The Merc with a mouth is shown wearing a set of Mickey Mouse ear over his head and is inside a school bus which says ‘Disney’.

Feels like the first day of ‘Pool,” wrote Reynolds on Twitter. You can check out the tweet below.

Deadpool is one of the characters finally under the Marvel Cinematic Universe thanks to the acquisition. Disney first engaged in talks to acquire 21st Century Fox back in December 2017. Since then, the acquisition has faced several hurdles with Comcast also trying to outbid the deal. But Disney responded by upping the bid to $71.3 billion which assured that the acquisition was still on track.

Fans were initially worried if this would lead to Disney making PG friendly Deadpool movies over its much loved R-rated roots which has proven to have worked for the last two titles. Fortunately, Disney Chairman and CEO Bob Iger assured that the studio will continue to stay on the same track and make R-rated films for the adult fans.

We will continue in that business,” promised Iger, adding, “There’s certainly popularity” with those types of films.

Iger also stated that the studio will take measures to ensure the audience know that these movies are for a different demographic by “carefully branding [R-rated films]…so we’re not in any way confusing the consumer.

Several Marvel projects such as Gambit, X-Force, Kity Pryde movie were all under early stages of development at Fox. But it was earlier revealed that it would be Disney’s call if the said projects would move forward.

Deadpool 3 which is currently under development will be released under Marvel Studios/Disney. But the upcoming Dark Phoenix will be the first title to hit theaters as a Disney property.
