‘Scott Lang is gonna die’: Ant-Man 3 trailer Quantumania fans react to Corey Stoll as MODOK in comic accurate design, Kang the Conqueror’s powers & more

While MCU fans were more worried about Kang the Conqueror devastating the Quantum Realm in Ant-Man 3, the latest Quantumania trailer seems to indicate grave danger is in store for Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) as well. Many Marvel followers are already jumping to conclusions that he may end up dying by the end. But the larger reaction generator for the Ant-Man and the Wasp Quantumania promo was thanks to MODOK’s first look and as long rumored, it seems like actor Corey Stoll is playing as the man inside the cyborg.

Could Scott Lang die? That’s the question on many Marvel fans’ minds since witnessing Ant-Man get beaten to a pulp by the menacing Kang the Conqueror (Jonathan Major) in the new Ant-Man 3 trailer. The brand new 2-minute footage was showcased at January 9th’s College Football Playoff National Championship in California and has since been released online for worldwide viewing.

The stakes are high in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, as it were during Thanos’ assault in the Infinity Gauntlet arc but Major’s Kang, who is being called Phase 5’s antagonist could pack a bigger punch than the Mad Titan. Sadly, Lang could be the first victim going by the brutality he faces in the latest trailer. It’s clear Lang is on a mission to find Kang’s Time Chair but Ant-Man also seems to have his own motives to find it – in hopes of reliving the time he has lost.

The rabbit hole of hurdles that Lang faces in the trailer looks more horrifying than the frightening elements showcased in Sam Raimi‘s Doctor Strange 2. Though the best takeaway was witnessing the mutated human with cybernetic enhancements donning his menacing mask. Yes, MODOK a.k.a The Organism Designed Only for Killing has a fearsome face but his true identity is none other than Stoll’s Darren Cross.

MCU fans are convinced Scott Lang won’t survive Kang’s assault in Ant-Man 3

A screenshot from the Ant-Man 3 trailer shows Kang with Cassie Lang and MODOK in the background but unmasked. A goofy version of his stretched facial traits is clearly seen, which confirms that the Yellowjacket does manage to survive the final battle of 2015’s Ant-Man. From the looks of it, the MCU fanbase loves the comic accurate design, especially the intimidating white eyes. Readers can check out reactions below.

There are several instances in the Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania promo clip where Scott Lang suggests he does not have to win against Kang but rather lose along with him as his ultimate sacrifice. There are speculations Cassie Lang would take the mantle but it remains to be seen where this would leave The Wasp (Evangeline Lilly), Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) and Janet Van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer).

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania will arrive in theaters on February 17, 2023.
