Shazam! Fury of the Gods certainly has an intimidating title, suggesting the wrath of Helen Mirren’s Hespera, Lucy Liu’s Kalypso and Rachel Zegler’s goddess (yet to be revealed) – the three daughters of Atlas. However, the trailer screened at CinemaCon 2022 says otherwise with light-hearted comedy from Billy Batson (Asher Angel) cracking Fast & Furious jokes about the importance of family and even having dreams about Wonder Woman.
CinemaCon 2022’s “BIG PICTURE” presentation from Warner Bros. saw the cast of Shazam! take the stage and address attendees, prior to unveiling the full trailer. Cast members Zachary Levi, Liu, Angel and Jack Dylan Grazer were present on stage and seem to have even had a brief discussion. Readers can check it out in the images below.

Earlier at the end of 2021, it was reported Wonder Woman would cameo in Shazam! Fury of the Gods. It did seem like a plausible crossover considering the sequel’s adversaries are related to the Gods of Olympus, similar to the Amazonian goddess being the daughter of Hippolyta and Zeus. However, a detailed description of the footage played at CinemaCon 2022 reveals it was not Gal Gadot but rather a stand-in.
Shazam: Fury of the Gods clip just played too. Billy has a dream that Wonder Woman wants to date him. Later he tells Helen Mirren's character he's seen the Fast and Furious movies, so saving the world is about FAMILY. Then his whole family shows up. Funny and sweet. #CinemaCon

It's not Gal Gadot though. And a ton of other stuff happened but now Aquaman stuff is happening and I don't have time to describe it all! (Yet. I will later).

An elaborate description of the full trailer reveals Shazam has shown in a Paris restaurant having a dinner date with Wonder Woman. The scene’s camera angle hides the facial features, similar to Peacemaker‘s final episode’s cameo. He then says he “can’t commit” which results in the Amazonian walking out but only to see her turn and find out it’s Merlin giving a warning to Shazam through his dream. “Daughters of Atlas are coming for you.” Other descriptions from outlets also indicate Billy goes in to kiss Wonder Woman but is shocked to see it’s the Wizard.

It’s then when Billy makes a Fast & Furious reference stating he’s seen all the films and saving the world is all about family (Poking fun at Vin Diesel‘s Dominic Toretto’s iconic line). The scene continues to show the entire Shazam family arriving and then fighting against a blue-eyed dragon.

Several journalists have hailed the teaser, some even suggesting director David F. Sandberg has outdone himself with the DC film sequel. It’s unclear when Warner Bros. would release the promotional content since its being told the trailers are still a work-in-progress.
Oh my gosh, @ponysmasher, it looks like you outdid yourself with #Shazamfuryofthegods. It is now one of my most anticipated films of 2022. #CinemaCon
