Portraying the role of a superhero on the big screen isn’t as easy as it looks. It takes a lot of efforts and hard work for the actors to get in shape and to ensure their physique goes with the character. DC’s Shazam! actor Zachary Levi also had to follow a strict diet and workout plan to get a superhero physique.
Levi, who is soon going to return to Toronto to resume Shazam! reshoots in November recently shared his diet and fitness plans with his fans on Twitter. He revealed that he believes in eating all through the day, so, he consumes a combination of meat and vegetables including his broccoli five times a day.
When someone asked Levi if he follows the currently trending Ketogenic diet, which is a high-fat, adequate-protein, low-carbohydrate diet, he said he doesn’t follow a keto diet as he includes a lot of healthy complex carbohydrates back into his diet to gain muscles.
Levi revealed that he has completely given up alcohol to mark Sober October is a campaign by Macmillan Cancer Support that encourages people to give up alcohol for an entire month and raise money for the charity while doing so. He said that going alcohol-free is making him feel much healthier and happier and he may even take it longer.
When another Twitter user asked Levi how he manages to eat throughout the day, he said that he uses different meal delivery companies in different cities, as he needs to eat a lot throughout the day and he doesn’t know any cooking. You can check out Levi’s posts below.
Directed by David F. Sandberg, Shazam! stars Zachary Levi, Asher Angel, Jack Dylan Grazer, Mark Strong, Grace Fulton, Faithe Herman, Jovan Armand, Adam Brody, Marta Milans, Ross Butler, Cooper Andrews, and Ian Chen. The film is set to arrive in theaters on April 5, 2019.
I was indeed! I basically eat the same macros all day long: meat and veg of varying combinations, 5 times a day. I used to eat a lot of eggs in the morning but I think I have an intolerance to them. 🤷♂️ https://t.co/9FQFPSB9aR

True. But Cocoa Pebbles doesn’t exactly go well with health. 🤷♂️ https://t.co/eUnBOX04Hh

Better than I expected. It was a little difficult at first, and it’s still kinda strange not having a drink when I do go out at night. But overall I feel so much healthier and happier and clearer of mind and heart. It’s been a good cleanse. May even take it longer. We’ll see. 🙌 https://t.co/cHCYShn9Am

I use different meal delivery companies in different cities, because I need to eat a lot thru the day, and I don’t know how to cook. Like, at all. 🙃 Here in NYC I’ve been using a company called @FoodMattersNYC. https://t.co/S7Gh0YCysL
