It won’t be wrong to say that Warner Bros. and DC Films’ Shazam! and Aquaman completely stole the limelight at the recently held San Diego Comic-Con 2018 event. The first Shazam! trailer has crossed 7.9 million views within just three days of release. From the looks of it, it seems the film has borrowed from Geoff Johns and Gary Frank’s New 52 run on the character.
Shazam! director, David F. Sandberg, recently shared a behind-the-scenes video of the trailer’s production on Twitter showcasing a small scene in which Billy Batson (Asher Angel) can be seen getting into a car. The gif only lasts a second and continues on a loop. The second video in the post shows the film crew members, elaborate rigs, and the area around the car where the said scene was shot.
Through the post, the director wanted to point out the difference between how a scene looks in front of the camera versus how it gets shot behind the camera.
“What you see vs what goes on behind the scenes (swipe). Making movies takes a long time…” Sandberg captioned the video.
You can check out the behind-the-scenes video clip below.
Shazam! is centered around the story of a teenager named boy Billy Batson who meets a mysterious Wizard (Djimon Hounsou) on a subway ride and inherits the wizards’ assortment of magical powers including the power to turn into an adult superhero by just uttering the magical word. The film will see Billy face off against Doctor Thadius Sivana (played by Mark Strong), a notorious mastermind who wants to gain Shazam’s magical powers to fulfill his wicked purposes.
Shazam! also stars Jack Dylan Grazer as Freddy Freeman, Grace Fulton as Mary Bromfield, Jovan Armand as Pedro Pena, Faithe Herman as Darla Dudley, Ian Chen as Eugene Choi, Cooper Andrews as Victor Vazquez, and Marta Milans as Rosa Vazquez.
Shazam! will hit theaters on April 9, 2019.
