Shazam! & Doctor Sivana’s Encounter Scene Teased At CCXP 2018

While Warner Bros. and DC Films are currently busy promoting the soon-to-be-released Aquaman, they have also begun creating a buzz for their next in line comic book film Shazam!. The studio showed off a new footage at Brazil’s Comic-Con, CCXP event, teasing the first meeting of the newest DC superhero and Dr. Thaddeus Sivana.

CCXP attendee Luiz Fernando, who got an opportunity to watch the footage, shared a description of the scene on Twitter. He explained that the scene, which was solely focused on Shazam and Sivana’s first encounter, saw Sivana emerge powerfully than the superhero.

He detailed that in the scene the titular character thinks he’s invincible, but, Sivana soon proves him wrong by throwing him to the skies and making him beg for his life. In the scene when Sivana complains Shazam is acting too much like a child, he replies that he is one.

Interestingly, when he is falling towards the ground, he calls out Superman’s name and begins to float. It is likely that his dormant flying powers might get awakened in the scene allowing him to float in the sky. The scene is expected to be included in the second Shazam! trailer which is expected to arrive sometime at the beginning of 2019.

Out of curiosity when another Twitter user asked Luiz if the scene had a Superman cameo, he said while it could have been the perfect scene to feature the fan-favorite superhero, there’s no such cameo, unfortunately.

You can check out the scene description in the tweets below.

The makers also introduced a new poster for the film at the CCXP event which featured Billy Batson (Asher Angel) and his alter-ego Shazam (Zachary Levi) together. The film’s story will revolve around a young foster kid Billy Batson who is granted the magical ability by a wizard to change into the superhero.

Directed by David F. Sandberg, Shazam! will arrive in theaters on April 5, 2019.
