It seems the stars of DC Films’ upcoming superhero movie Shazam! are leaving no stone unturned to promote the film. In a live video question & answer session on social media with Entertainment Weekly, the film actors including Zachary Levi and Asher Angel revealed some details about the film.
During the Q&A, when Asher was asked to explain Shazam! in one sentence, he said that it’s a complete fun, family superhero movie. He compared Shazam! and Superman, saying that the two superheroes have a lot in common.
Levi declared that the upcoming movie is a unique blend of Superman and the movie Big featuring Tom Hanks.
Fans can hear the actors calling out the word Shazam! at the top of their voice. Notably, Shazam! is the story of a teenage boy, Billy Batson played by Asher Angel, who transforms himself into a superhero with the power of six mythological gods played by Zachary Levi by just saying the word Shazam.
Levi and Angel also introduced the rest of the Shazam family for the first time including Jack Dylan Faithe Herman (Darla), Grazer (Freddy), Ian Chen (Eugene), Grace Fulton (Mary), and Jovan Armand (Pedro). Interestingly, each of them came in front of the camera holding a stuffed tiger, which appears to be a nod to the fan-favorite character Tawky Tawny. No major details about the film’s plot were revealed in the interview. You can check out the clip video.
Warner Bros. Pictures recently unveiled the official movie logo for Shazam!. The logo was revealed on a poster tweeted by the movie’s official Twitter account. It certainly has an explosive comic book look. Director David F. Sandberg has revealed that the official movie logo was based on a design that he created himself for presentation purposes.
Notably, the official website for Shazam! is also live now. It is expected that official Shazam costume pictures are hopefully forthcoming. The film will hit theaters on April 5, 2019.
