Recently, Warner Bros. dropped the second trailer for Shazam! which received a good reception from the masses. But fans in India have been wondering if the movie would be released in regional languages since a lot of the moviegoers in the country prefer watching it in their home language.
UPDATE: Movie theater ticketing site Fandango says the movie will run for 2 hours and 12 minutes.
PursueNews reached out to the studio and can confirm that the movie will be released in English, Hindi, Tamil & Telegu. Furthermore, trailers in regional languages will be also be released soon by this month.
There have been reports that Shazam!’s runtime could be 100 minutes. But we have been told that the movie would be around 115 minutes which means it would clock approximately around 2 hours or lesser.
Aquaman had a runtime of 2 hours 23 minutes and Wonder Woman clocked in at 2 hours 29 minutes. Compared to those two DC titles, this would be one of the shortest origin films in the DCEU. but unlike Justice League (2 hours runtime), Shazam’s runtime won’t necessarily be an issue and neither does the fanbase seem to have an issue with it.
Shazam! had a press screening earlier today (Wednesday) and it has been revealed that the social media embargo lifts on Thursday so fans will be getting their first reactions from critics soon on Twitter.
In other Shazam! related news, Aquaman digital HD was released on iTunes and with it came an exclusive 3-minute sneak peek to Shazam!. The footage shows the superheroes’ first interaction with Freddy as they attempt to figure out Shazam’s abilities. You can check it out below.
The recently released trailer also had several interesting takeaways for fans. One of which was a homage to a scene from Man of Steel. It has already been hinted that the movie has several easter eggs and references which assures that the movie is part of the DCEU connectivity.
Shazam! hits theaters on April 5 worldwide.
