She-Hulk episode 1 fans react to Bruce Banner ‘bruh’ dynamic with She-Hulk, Tony Stark reference, Jennifer Walters response to Captain America is [spoilers], Titania’s debut & more

The MCU fans have spoken, She-Hulk episode 1 receives an outpour of love, especially for Tatiana Maslany’s charming portrayal of Jennifer Walters. From watching the Attorney at law screech in excitement over Captain America’s non-virgin status to putting up with Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk training session in Tony Stark’s beach house/lab – the premiere kicks off the series with an array of jesting Marvel references whilst also introducing new faces like Titania (Jameela Jamil). Here’s a recap of the best moments that stood out among viewers.

She-Hulk is here to stay and the character’s debut is already off to a great start going by social media reactions. The first episode is quick to address Jen’s freak accident that causes her blood to mix up with Bruce Banner’s gamma radiation. The debut episode also offers insight on the Thor: Ragnarok spaceship that’s led to rampant rumors of a possible World War Hulk movie. It’s Sakaaran Class-Eight courier craft and while it’s revealed they are attempting to send the Hulk a message, the exact reason remains unclear.  But there’s a bigger problem at hand, Jen is She-Hulk, and surprisingly, her blood synthesis gamma in a unique way, allowing Banner to heal the damage dealt to his arm (remember when The Hulk almost lost an arm snapping half the world back into existence in Avengers: Endgame).

While Jen isn’t cheerful about her transformation, Smart Hulk still has a plan in store, a multi-year journey to prepare his cousin to come to terms with being Hulk. And that includes practicing routines laid out in the Green Goliath’s syllabus, like undergoing Dialectical behavioral therapy (it’s clinical, not spiritual – Smart Hulk), setting up two wardrobes, boulder tossing and a series of exercises to find her balance. However, the training montage is cut short when Jen manages to ace her tests, one-upping her cousin every step of the way.

Aside from Jen’s quip and her bonding with Bruce, She-Hulk episode 1 has a few heart-melting moments that got Marvel fans teary. Bruce talks about his fond memories spent with Tony Stark during the blip, remembering his lullaby moments with Natasha and discussing Steve Rogers – the throwback to Marvel’s veteran superheroes has viewers cheering on social media. On the plus side, the feminism elements have also struck a chord and the larger fan base is convinced Maslany was the perfect casting for She-Hulk.

She-Hulk episode 1 has a post-credits scene where she finally makes Smart Hulk spit out the truth on Steve Rogers’ virginity status. “He lost his virginity to a girl in 1943 on the USO tour.” So yes, America’s ass got to a have little fun before going on the ice.

According to She-Hulk: Attorney at Law head writer Jessica Gao, Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige confirmed this is the “canon answer” (via: TheDirect). But bizarrely, some Marvel aficionados have a theory suggesting Steve may have lost his virginity to Star-Lord’s mom, Meredith Quill. Though let’s take it with a grain of salt till official confirmation.

She-Hulk: Attorney at Law episode 2 will release next week on Thursday via Disney Plus.
