She-Hulk episode 2 fans react to Wolverine reference, Jennifer Walters meets Abomination, Bruce goes to Sakaar & possibly teases World War Hulk, Eternals easter egg & more

She-Hulk episode 2 offers a peek at the larger MCU, from a subtle Wolverine reference to addressing 2021’s Eternals movie’s Celestial occurrence on Earth – the latest episode from the Tatiana Maslany starrer Disney Plus series has Marvel fans exhilarated for the expanding universe. To top it all off, Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) is in space and probably on his way to Sakaar, could this be a hint to the World War Hulk arc? Here’s a recap of the best moments from She-Hulk episode 2.

So Jennifer Walters is an Attorney for hire, all thanks to episode 1’s courtroom fiasco with Titania. Fortunately, she has her friend Nikki (Giner Gonzaga) to share her sorrows and Captain America’s ass as her phone’s wallpaper to cope through. After sitting through a sleeve of rejections from recruiters, Jen finds one law firm interested in her skill-set – the superhero law division overseen by Holden Holliway (Steve Coulter). Though there’s a catch, She-Hulk needs to be the face of it and is assigned with Emil Blonsky’s case as her first.  On the bright side, she’s employed and as Bruce calls her, Jen is She-Hulk, Attorney at Law.

The second segment of Attorney at Law perfectly balances humor and the serious stakes of the current Marvel Cinematic Universe. Jen’s father quizzing her about Hawkeye’s arrow is a question that every Marvel fan would’ve had at one point. Meanwhile, she also faces the harsh reality of Abomination’s face-off with Bruce Banner in the Incredible Hulk. In fact, it raises questions regarding the blurring lines between what makes an enhanced individual a superhero or a supervillain. So far, the only critique from viewers is the short runtime which clocks in at 29 minutes (excluding the credits and blooper-Esque post-credits scene). Readers can check out reactions below.

She-Hulk episode 2 ends with Jennifer Walters finding out about Blonsky’s prison escape to fight in the underworld tournament shown in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. The scene suggests his escape took place after Jen’s meeting, indicating the events of the second chapter occur parallel to Xu Xialing’s fight club sequence. It’s brought up questions if Smart Hulk could revert to Bruce Banner at the end of She-Hulk. There’s already discussion if it could be a continuity error since Bruce’s cameo in Shang-Chi’s post-credits scene showed his arm unhealed.

On the topic of Wolverine’s tease, “Man fights with metal claws in bar brawl” – it sums up Mutants already exist in this universe and perhaps are in hiding like Logan. With 20th Century Fox’s contractual obligations in effect until 2025, Disney’s Marvel Studios could possibly introduce Hugh Jackman in the role though it’s unclear what Kevin Feige has in store.

She-Hulk episode 3 will air next Thursday on Disney Plus.
