There’s a new hero in town, She-Hulk (Tatiana Maslany) and the general public in the MCU has a lot to say about the female superhero, as addressed in the third episode of the Disney Plus series. Jen Walter’s life as an Attorney at Law working for GLK&H’s Superhuman Law Division attracted quite the public attention, especially after the media circus over her new case representing Abomination (Tim Roth) drew immense backlash. A montage of toxic criticism aimed at She-Hulk on social media was shown in episode 3 and it seems Marvel Studios may have taken a page from, well, real instances.
She-Hulk episode 3 has been making the rounds on social media all thanks to Megan Thee Stallion’s twerking cameo. But aside from the fun factor, Marvel fans were also impressed by the studio’s attempt at reconceiving She-Hulk’s announcement backlash as part of the character’s storyline. But it seems some of the toxic comments shown in the latest episodes were copied from real comments, word for word.
A fan page account known for sharing regular She-Hulk-related updates tweeted a side-by-side comparison of a few obnoxious comments written on She-Hulk’s D23 announcement post from 2019. Surprisingly, one such response is ditto to the real-life remark. Readers can check it out below.
It seems like Marvel took some inspiration. In 2019 when Marvel announced She-Hulk the comments were spammed with outraged men. Even some of the exact words shown in the video. “So we have a metoo movement now and all the male heroes are gone?” #SheHulk #SheHulkAttorneyAtLaw pic.twitter.com/YQoJGcnAP6

The toxic interactions shouldn’t come as a surprise since She-Hulk was branded ‘woke’ by many for its feminist elements. A similar comment was made for Ms. Marvel though the series is currently the highest-rated MCU show on Rotten Tomatoes. Attorney at Law’s RT score is fresh for now but the audience score has tumbled down to 50%, even so, that’s subject to change based on the reaction the rest of the six episodes would receive.
She-Hulk is by far the most inter-connected project under Marvel Cinematic Universe with even references to the Mutants/Wolverine. While its premiere watch score makes it the second lowest watched series, its cameo-packed episodes are slowly pulling in the larger MCU fanbase as well.
