With She-Hulk marking the end of MCU Phase 4 on the TV front, star Mark Ruffalo is already addressing Avengers: Secret Wars related queries and the possibility of exploring the World War Hulk storyline from Marvel comics. The Infinity Saga films were the culmination of a decade of MCU’s storytelling, and repeating its success remains debatable that even Ruffalo is inclined to concur. Still, the Avengers actor’s cryptic response on playing the role for a potential standalone project is the silver lining that Marvel fans expected.
Mark Ruffalo is passing on the torch to Tatiana Maslany in She-Hulk but that doesn’t mean the Green Goliath is stepping away from the spotlight rather could be in the front and center of a few big event films under MCU Phase 5 and 6, like the next culmination-level ensemble blockbuster as Avengers: Endgame. And Ruffalo remains confident in Kevin Feige and Marvel Studios for repeating the formula.
Speaking at She-Hulk: Attorney at Law red carpet premiere, Ruffalo was asked about Secret Wars and his thoughts on how the future film would fare against Endgame. Although he holds his doubt about topping the Infinity Saga film, his trust in Marvel Cinematic Universe says it all.
“Well, it’s gonna be hard to top Endgame, but if I know Kevin and if I know Marvel, it’s gonna be pretty amazing. It’ll be a big bang, we’ll go out with a big bang.”
While She-Hulk keeps the focus on introducing Jennifer Walters, the series still shines a light on the importance of Bruce Banner/Hulk for the Green Goliath franchise. In fact, a teaser showed a shot of commodore, the Grandmaster’s ship from Thor: Ragnarok, hinting that the Hulk’s warrior days are far from over. But some have also taken into as an indication that Marvel Studios could be hinting at a World War Hulk movie.
Ruffalo was also asked about easter eggs (like the aforementioned) and if it denotes a World War Hulk adaptation. Simply put, the 54-year-old MCU legacy star was questioned if he’d be open to the idea of a solo Hulk movie. Readers can check out his response in ET’s interview from the launch event, below.
