DCEU fans, specifically Snyder fandom are up in arms over a new rumor from an insider claiming Superman played by Henry Cavill and Ben Affleck‘s Batman will reportedly be erased from the DC Extended Universe continuity in the upcoming Flash movie directed by Andy Muschiette. However, as the report suggests, not all characters will be a victim of the course correction as Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) and Aquaman (Jason Momoa) will continue to exist in the new timeline.
The Flash movie will see Ezra Miller reprise his role as the speedster from 2017’s Justice League. And though Ben Affleck has filmed his part as The Dark Knight, it will be his last stint as the events of the movie will replace the current version of The Batman with Michael Keaton. Added, the new rumor from Beyond the Trailer host Grace Randolph stated that a new DCEU universe will be established where Superman will be replaced by Supergirl (Sasha Calle), while Keaton, who’s working with Black Canary (Jurnee Smollett) chooses Batgirl as the new Batman. Alas, a new Justice League is formed.
As expected, the rumor was met with heavy backlash from Snyder fans sharing their frustration over the new changes. Furthermore, the removal of Cavill’s Man of Steel received the most pushback. Many have reacted to the news with the hashtag Snyderverse to show their support for Zack Snyder‘s planned universe. Readers can check out reactions below.
Ben Affleck doesn’t WANT to come back.
Henry Cavill ain’t gettin’ invited back, for reasons I’ve already told you countless times that are as much on him as WB.
You guys are hoping for something that is an impossibility.
You gotta just move on. ❤️ pic.twitter.com/h6GkGwpJpI

The final thing I’m going to say: there are some who’s entire identity is wrapped up in SnyderVerse hype.
So they’ll never let it go, never stop giving you hope, but for very wrong reasons.
You don’t have to like or support the new #DCEU, but u should realize what’s happening. pic.twitter.com/SuNUyWM6sy

Grace's latest video said she didn't think Flash would make >$1bn because of Snyderverse fans.
If they have that kind of power, maybe they should be listened to?
Maybe also don't put them down and sell them crap when they make up most of your audience?#RestoretheSnyderVerse

WB claimed that Zack Snyder's Justice League was a cul-de-sac and a failure on HBO Max. But the truth is that the film was a massive success on HBO Max and was called the global phenomenon.#BoycottWB #RestoreTheSnyderVerse pic.twitter.com/92oqGzLNP1

Earlier, Miller responded to a fan on Instagram saying otherwise claiming the movie doesn’t erase Snyder’s “mighty wrkz.” Yet, the actor didn’t outright state if the film would replace Superman and Batman. So far, several insiders on Twitter have claimed the replacement of Superman and Batman with Supergirl and Batgirl. In fact, the Batgirl movie starring Leslie Grace is already in production with Keaton set to play as Batman.
The Flash will land in theaters on November 4, 2022.
