Snyderverse trends as DCEU fans react to Warner Bros. reportedly erasing Superman & Batman

DCEU fans, specifically Snyder fandom are up in arms over a new rumor from an insider claiming Superman played by Henry Cavill and Ben Affleck‘s Batman will reportedly be erased from the DC Extended Universe continuity in the upcoming Flash movie directed by Andy Muschiette. However, as the report suggests, not all characters will be a victim of the course correction as Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) and Aquaman (Jason Momoa) will continue to exist in the new timeline.

The Flash movie will see Ezra Miller reprise his role as the speedster from 2017’s Justice League. And though Ben Affleck has filmed his part as The Dark Knight, it will be his last stint as the events of the movie will replace the current version of The Batman with Michael Keaton. Added, the new rumor from Beyond the Trailer host Grace Randolph stated that a new DCEU universe will be established where Superman will be replaced by Supergirl (Sasha Calle), while Keaton, who’s working with Black Canary (Jurnee Smollett) chooses Batgirl as the new Batman. Alas, a new Justice League is formed.

As expected, the rumor was met with heavy backlash from Snyder fans sharing their frustration over the new changes. Furthermore, the removal of Cavill’s Man of Steel received the most pushback. Many have reacted to the news with the hashtag Snyderverse to show their support for Zack Snyder‘s planned universe. Readers can check out reactions below.

Earlier, Miller responded to a fan on Instagram saying otherwise claiming the movie doesn’t erase Snyder’s “mighty wrkz.” Yet, the actor didn’t outright state if the film would replace Superman and Batman. So far, several insiders on Twitter have claimed the replacement of Superman and Batman with Supergirl and Batgirl. In fact, the Batgirl movie starring Leslie Grace is already in production with Keaton set to play as Batman.

The Flash will land in theaters on November 4, 2022.
