Solo: A Star Wars Story- New Han Solo Theme By John Williams Confirmed

It seems composer John Powell has already begun working on the score of Lucasfilm’s sci-fi saga, Solo: A Star Wars Story. Howard’s recent social media post confirms that work is finally underway on the film’s score.

The Academy Award-nominated film composer shared a picture on his official Facebook account that shows him working on the film’s score at the legendary Abbey Road Studios in London, England. You can check out the picture below.

Solo: A Star Wars Story director Ron Howard also recently took to social media to share a picture which shows the full orchestra recording the score for the film under John Powell. Powell is also conducting the film’s theme for the title character composed by iconic composer John Williams.

Williams has been creating the epic themes for the Star Wars franchise since last four decades. He has composed the score for every film in the main saga and is set to work on Star Wars: Episode IX with J.J. Abrams. He recently stated that he might likely retire after completing work on Episode IX.

Notably, Michael Giacchino composed the score of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Powell can be credited for composing the scores of a lot of popular films including the Bourne series, Shrek, Kung Fu Panda and How to Train Your Dragon, Ice Age, and many more.

Recently, Star Wars official Twitter account posted a video showcasing the construction of a theater standee which shows the inside of the Falcon alongside a cardboard cut-out of Alden Ehrenreich’s Han Solo, Chewbacca, Emilia Clarke’s Qi’ra, Donald Glover’s Lando Calrissian, and Woody Harrelson’s Tobias Beckett.

Solo: A Star Wars Story is Han Solo’s origin story, who is one of the most loved characters of the Star Wars universe. It is reported that the events of the film will take place around 11-14 years before the events of the original Star Wars.

Solo: A Star Wars Story will land in theaters on May 25.
