With just a few months remaining for release, a lot of information about the highly anticipated Solo: A Star Wars Story has started pouring in. Solo is the origin story of the fan-favorite Star Wars character Han Solo and will focus on Han Solo’s friendship with Chewbacca, and Lando Calrissian.
Donald Glover, who will be seen portraying the role of young Lando Calrissian in the upcoming film, has revealed in a recent interview that the spinoff film is going to be a lot of fun as compared to other films in the saga. According to Glover, Solo: A Star Wars Story will feature the origins of some of the characters, so, fans already know that the characters are not going to die in the spin-off movie.
“I think it’s just a lot more fun. All the Star Wars [movies] are really fun but I think this movie, we know what’s going to happen, we know they’re not going to die, ya know?” Glover told Entertainment Tonight.
“We know, kind of, what happens, but how we got there, I guess, is the crux of it. So we’re allowed to have a lot more fun than I think the other movies where you have to deal with a lot of the lineage in what’s going to happen. I think this movie’s, like, just a fun, summer film. I’m really excited about it. It’s really cool.”
Directed by Ron Howard, Solo: A Star Wars Story stars Alden Ehrenreich as Han Solo, Joonas Suotamo as Chewbacca, Donald Glover as Lando Calrissian and Emilia Clarke as Qi’ra in the leading roles.
